X-TEND Stainless Steel Cable Mesh: safety in urban areas
Modern sports and exercise facilities must meet high safety requirements while combining aesthetics, durability and sustainability. The X-TEND Stainless Steel Cable Mesh is a versatile fall protection and safety system for indoor and outdoor sports facilities.
One example is the Hiwa Wellness Centre at the University of Auckland in New Zealand. A sports area has been created on the roof of the university building, enclosed entirely by X-TEND Stainless Steel Cable Mesh. The construction provides the necessary fall protection, maintains the unobstructed view and blends discreetly into the overall architectural concept. At the same time, the system impresses with its high dimensional stability and durability – even under demanding weather conditions.
European Technical Assessment ETA-22/0257 forms the basis for the use of X-TEND as a fall protection and safety mesh. It enables static calculations and installation in accordance with standards and guidelines in line with the European Construction Products Regulation. Regular external monitoring ensures consistently high production and product quality.
In addition, the system is RC3-tested and EPD-global certified according to ISO14025 and EN15804+A2, which supports its use in safety- and sustainability-oriented sports construction projects.
Made of durable, fully recyclable V4A stainless steel, X-TEND impresses with its low weight and high load-bearing capacity at the same time. Different mesh sizes and cable diameters enable filigree, room-high constructions with large spans. In addition, the mesh catches balls silently and remains dimensionally stable. Production takes place in our own factories in Europe and the USA, enabling us there to meet requirements such as ‘Buy American’.
