New Member: Mingliang Xu (China)

Mingliang Xu has nearly twenty years of experience in the design and delivery of sports, recreation, and cultural facilities across China. His projects span high-performance venues, historic preservation, and cultural landmarks. He focuses on carrying architectural intent through to built reality, balancing the demands of event-mode operation with inclusive design excellence and a sustainable future measured in decades of use.

Mingliang's professional background includes serving as Lead Architect and Project Lead for the 2025 Asian Winter Games Ice Hockey Arena, a venue delivered to the standards set by the Olympic Council of Asia. He has also worked closely on the supporting facilities for the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games and on several Olympic sports centres in China, shaping their design and holding it through delivery on site. He held the same dual role on Poseidon Ocean World. He is a RIBA Chartered Architect, an International Associate of the AIA, and a graduate of Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT).
