New member: Alfiya Kalmganbetova
Alfiya Kalmganbetova is a distinguished sports scholar and international leader in cheerleading, majorettes sport, and rope skipping. She is currently pursuing her PhD at in Varna, Bulgaria, building on advanced studies from the Kazakh Academy of Tourism and Sport (Master, 2023), the Center for Non-Olympic Sports in Moscow (2015), and earlier postgraduate and undergraduate degrees in literature, art, and education from institutions in Kazakhstan.
Since 2006, Alfiya has been a driving force in developing cheerleading and majorettes sport in Kazakhstan and beyond. She served as President of the National Kazakh Cheerleading Federation and the Federation of Sport Majorettes and Twirling, later expanding her influence as President of the Asian Federation for Sport Majorettes and Twirling (2019) and the Kazakh Federation for Jump Rope and Rope Skipping. In 2025, she was appointed Vice President of the International Federation Majorettes Sport, following her role as Executive Committee Member of the International Majorettes Sport Federation.
An accomplished educator and author, she has trained national teams and published several methodological handbooks, including Cheer Up by AK (2022) and Sport in a Square (2021).
