Klaus Meinel, Secretary General
In 1997, Klaus joined the IAKS headquarters in Cologne as a scientific staff member and was appointed IAKS Managing Director in 2003. In 2015, Klaus became IAKS Secretary General.
Klaus holds a diploma in landscape architecture after having visited universities in Hanover (Germany) and Tours (France) from 1988 to 1995. From 1995 to 1997, he was a technical officer at the German Association of Landscape Architects in Bonn and Berlin.
Besides his general tasks for IAKS, Klaus is responsible for the programming of the biannual IAKS Congresses as well as for the IOC IAKS Architecture Prizes.
Silke Baltzer, Public Relations and Event Management
Silke joined IAKS in 2007 as executive assistant, after having started her professional career as management assistant in sales and HR departments.
Thanks to her multiple language skills, she has been responsible for IAKS membership services and for supporting the national or regional IAKS structures throughout the world. In 2015, Silke became responsible for the office’s operations and for the IAKS’s public relation activities. This includes online PR as well as editorial works for the “sb” magazine.
Her tasks also include organizing international IAKS events like the IAKS Congress, international conferences and study trips.
In her free time, Silke tends to the garden, goes road cycling, and practices yoga. She is especially passionate about traveling, sewing, and she bakes fantastic cakes!
Christoph Lieck, Senior Marketing Manager
Christoph is a seasoned B2B marketing expert with deep expertise in digital communication gained across industries ranging from technology and healthcare IT to industry and consulting. During his career, he has always focused on clear communication, meaningful content, and improving the customer experience.
Christoph is passionate about making complex topics accessible, strengthening digital touchpoints, and building solutions that genuinely support users and partners. At IAKS, he will be driving our online PR, guiding the further development of the iaks.sport website, advancing our digitalisation and MarTech efforts, and supporting business development activities - always with a collaborative spirit and an eye for quality.
Max Rosenau, Marketing & Account Management
In January 2023, Max Rosenau started as a marketing and account manager at the IAKS in the Cologne office. As a contact person for all business partners, he supports and advises them in their marketing activities in our network, especially in relation to our magazine "sb" and as a partner of our numerous seminars and events.
Max Rosenau studied in the bachelor's programme "Sports Management and Communication" at the German Sports University in Cologne. Away from work, he is interested in a variety of individual and team sports, is generally very keen on sports and played in a football club for a long time. He also enjoys travelling and feels at home in hip-hop music.
Victoria Page, Graphic Design
Since February 2023, Victoria Page has been supporting our IAKS team in the office at the headquarters in Cologne, Germany. The accomplished photographer puts all articles in the trade journal "sb" into an appealing layout and is also responsible for all other graphic work.
In her free time, she practices aikido and is passionate about oil painting. Victoria speaks seven languages!
Cathrin Völlmecke, Member Services and Accounting
Cathrin Völlmecke (33) has been part of the IAKS team at the Cologne head office since March 2025. As team assistant, she takes care of member services, is largely responsible for accounting, in particular invoicing, and supports the team with day-to-day and project-related tasks.
She completed her Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Corporate Communications at HMKW Cologne. She then worked professionally in various areas.
She enjoys spending her free time with her husband and two children, spending time in nature, climbing or camping.
Jannis Krampen, Marketing and Sales
Jannis Krampen (26) has been working as a student assistant in the Marketing and Sales department at IAKS's headquarters in Cologne since February 2025. In November 2025, he joined the team in a permanent position. In this role, he is responsible for planning and implementing marketing and sales activities for IAKS International. His duties include conducting competitive, industry and benchmark analyses, and acting as a knowledgeable contact for business partners within the IAKS network. He also handles B2B customer enquiries and prepares onboarding and acquisition meetings for the sales team.
Jannis holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from IU International University in Cologne, and has previously completed training as an industrial clerk. His background in business and his practical experience in marketing and sales enable him to apply his knowledge and skills effectively in his role at IAKS International.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors, cycling and playing sports.
